Andrew: Senior

Love this guy, I was so excited when I got an email from his mom saying they needed senior pics! I love repeats, every time I photograph someone it gets easier and easier because there is a whole new comfort level. I told Shane who I was doing, and he immediately remembered Andrew, because of his personality. He is quite the entertainer and full of jokes! There was no trying to make him smile and laugh he just enjoys entertaining everyone else!

So I doubt anyone (even my very loyal blogstalkers) remember Andrew and his family from last summer check it out he looks so grown up now. I could not believe my eyes when I got there he looks awesome, yes love the haircut you can see his baby blue eyes now! I never even noticed his eyes last time! Anyway he is amazing both in and out....ladies email me I will pass on your digits!

P.S. Late night blogging is never good don't pay attention to what I write it is never good after midnight!

Collin: 1 Year

Collin is so stinking cute and was quite the little show off. He was happy as could be despite the heat wave! Seriously Fall needs to make an early appearance I am so over Summer, they are just brutal here! Anyway despite the crazy hot temps he was all smiles, thanks to his wonderful mom (who I may add is quite forgiving :) ) who had all the necessities to a happy Collin - fruit snacks, cheerios, sunglasses, his hat, and water! Thanks Kate I had such a great time getting to shoot your little mans 1 year-old pics!

Decker Family

Last week I met up with Troy and Lauren but this time not for engagement pics but for family pics with their adorable little lady, Harmony that was in town for a few weeks. She was pretty shy and made us work hard for smiles but she loosened up and by the end was even talking to me! They brought the baseball tees back again for this shoot, while Harmony was visiting they took her to a baseball game and she loved the Royals game, she is a smart girl! Happy Monday!

She was all serious at the beginning so I took advantage of that...LOVE IT!

Cheeko had been talking about getting a family picture taken since I took Tim's senior photos last year, but with two kids off to college it took awhile to coordinate this. 2 weeks ago all the kids were coming home and she had been looking at the last family photo they had done when the youngest was around the age of three, so nine years! They were certainly overdue for an update. They were such a loving family for the 45 minute shoot in the rain! Seriously 2 minutes after we started shooting the rain started coming down so it was a bit chaotic no direction at all just shooting hoping for a good result, I think it worked! These Gingers were amazing!

P.S. Molly said something about shooting a bunch of Gingers aka a bunch of red heads (I was not in the know on the red head communities nickname :) and I was confused, imagine that)! Well I throughly enjoy shooting Gingers, they officially rock!

Lauren + Kevin: Engagement

We did a few downtown and then went to Platte City for some "pretty bridges". I think these pictures really capture their relationship, not that I am a pro because I only spent 2 hours with them but I know they like the outdoors, love to laugh, and love each other!

Birthday Invitations

I blogged awhile back about the kids party at the Red Barn Farm, which was amazing! Well as I was ordering pictures of the last 6 months of my kids lives, I ran across the invitations from the party, and decided to share! I went to Target bought a box of these cute rustic uni-sex cards and designed my own invitations for a whooping $5.99! I am proud of these, can you tell?

Posy: 9 months

I don't just love chunky babies because Posy is no rolly polly,and I definitely love this lady! How can you not with her blue eyes and long lashes, adorable! She is definitely ahead of the curve and has started walking behind a walker, which she loves! I bet it is only a matter of a month before she lets go and is doing it on her own! She is just the sweetest little doll baby, she is always so happy! She is also quite the little swimmer as well Ella and Posy are taking swim lessons at the Platte City pool together, which is super fun! It is more like social hour for me and Audrey but the little ones seem to be loving the water also! Lets just hope that it does not rain tonight!

So for Posy's 9 month shoot Greg & Audrey decided to do a shoot with the grandparents and their favorite granddaughter (she is the only one on both sides so she is extra spoiled I am sure). I love these so much, and I am sure the grandparents and Ms. Posy will cherish these for many years!

So Big! I said I was going to have to go home and work with Ella on this, my lady is currently soaking it all in not to much talking or actions!

Love the lipstick on her cheek! Posy loved mom and dad kissing her but I don't know if she was as fond of the other whiskery men kissing her!

Aunt Kristi bought her a pair of Converse, I think Kristi rocks!

Love the clover, shoes, and tutu...perfection!

From the minute we got there Posy was eyeing up the pool, I think they originally were going to set her on the side of the pool but Posy was not going to have it she was getting in. I think they should have done the whole shoot in the water, these smiles are amazing!

Mom had to hold her by her arms in the pool but Posy did not care she was so excited! P.S. She can be chubby when she wants to be, look at that chin :)

Next two are my faves it is a toss up, such a gorgeous little girl they have!

Love her eyes...I am a sucker for the blonde-head blue-eyed babies!

Amy + Daniel : Weston Red Barn Farm Wedding

Note to all brides: Book me and then book the Red Barn Farm :) I love the Red Barn Farm so much and don't think I would ever get sick of shooting here, there is seriously endless possibilities! I was about 95% confident on the day of this wedding (a big improvement) even with hovering black clouds I did not have a worry that I could not work it out! I am just comfortable at the Farm besides shooting my first wedding there, getting married there 5 years ago, + visiting the farm on the weekly with the kiddos I totally feel in my element! Amy & Daniel are so carefree and easy going, even with the 15 minute downpour Amy was smiling through it all because she said there was nothing she could do! I love my brides I know I have said it before but I do they are all so laid back and easy to work with, plus gorgeous!

When I asked Amy what was her favorite thing/part of her wedding and she said she loved her handkerchiefs I agree such a cute idea!

Her maid of honor made all the cupcakes, and boy oh boy they were delicious I may have partaken in 1 to many, but I had to try all the flavors :) Favorite flave lemon wins hands down!

Blackberry season is here! Amy was out eating blackberries while I was taking ring shots!

They are going to make one amazing little family, Bella loves Daniel so much and could not be more excited for her mom!

Bella, Will, and see the lady in the green dress coordinating the whole thing that is Jaime she is a fabulous wedding planner! This apparently was her first pro job but you could not tell, call her, book her now, jamiebb82@gmail.com.

Bella played "You Are My Sunshine" for Amy & Daniel. Their wedding was nothing short of amazing every wedding has truly special moments and vary from wedding to wedding it might be the father-daughter dance, a uber sweet first sight, handwritten vows, the best violin performance by one talented little girl it makes every wedding special and unique!

A few of my formals, not your typical but don't they look like a family opposed to distant relatives :)

Brad is Beth's (Daniel's sister) fiance who was unable to make it as well due to the Army. While he couldn't make it he was there through Brad the bear he was relaxing here, but he did a lot of dancing that night and photo taken!

Chase: 9 months

Geez, I don't know where time goes with my own kids but really can not believe how quickly Mr. Chase has grown up as well! Next time I see him he will be the big 1! He is still the cutest, cuddliest, chubbiest little boy and I adore him! These take the cake for sure, a chubby baby in overalls, a vintage firetruck, and his speedo. Seriously my baby's first year parents are so stinking creative I am relieved of any work all I do is show up and shoot all their adorableness!

This boy has eyes a little like his momma's, love them blue eyed babies!

Fave, Chase loves airplanes and at the very end of the shoot one flew over! (my pics are in reverse order still I don't know why all of a sudden they flopped them when I drop them in but it takes WAY to long to rearrange so till I figure it out my BLOG is a little backwards!)

I LOVE CHUBBY BABIES! Everyone wants to squeeze this baby I am sure!

So glad Niki wanted to take him to the pool for some roll shots :)

How awesome is Chase's firetruck Niki's mom found it at an auction...I love!

Munson: Teaser

More to come of this family, but since she is my sister she gets moved to the back of the line, there are advantages and disadvantages to being related to me, but until I have more downtime here is a teaser of my favorite and only sister and her gorgeous kids who so dearly dislike me :)

P.S. My sister's kids are not crazy about me especially as babies I hold them they scream, well my sister told me that I am not good with kids. That only happens to be about 75% of my job photographing kids, well I have come to realize that all kids love me....except hers! You win some you lose some :)

She is so sweet and adorable, and her eyes are gorgeous! Well she is sweet and adorable when her mom is holding her!

Mason: 1 year

I have taken photos of more 1 year olds lately then I can count! Here is Mr. Mason, he travelled all the way from Wisconsin to have his photo taken by me! Ok, his mother may have been visiting my sister (her bff who also flew in from Idaho to have pictures taken by me), but I would also like to think it was for his 1 year photos! He is quite the little ham and is an easy boy to get to light up, even when the photographer knocks a 3 inch around stick over on top of his head :) Can't wait to see them again

So Mr. 4th of July was supposed to be posted on the 4th but I am a slacker so Happy belated 4th, hope everyone had a good one! So bummed we did not get to see any fireworks this year, because of the rain!

Jennie+Bill: Engagement

Trying to get caught up on all the shoots over the last couple weeks! I met up with Bill, Jennie, and their gorgeous babe, Zoe. Bill & Jennie were planning a wedding for this last Srping, but instead of a wedding they were blessed with a baby girl, Ms. Zoe! So they moved their wedding to this October, and she will be carrying their bundle of joy down the isle! So instead of just engagement pics I suggested they bring her with and do a little family/engagement shoot! I am so glad they did, they are naturals in front of the cam, but really loosened up with the little lady in their hands!

It is hard being a model, love the Sno-Cone stand. They were setting up for Parkville days the day we did their shoot, I could have had a ton of fun with this if they had more set up but I will settle for the Sno-Cone trailer!

LOVE this little boy, he was the happiest easiest 2 year old I have ever met! Usually 2 year olds have proven to be one of my toughest subjects, but not the case for Mr. Thatcher! He was a pretty easy little man to get to smile. Like every 2 year old he was on the go running all over Weston, telling me "come on lady!" but overall a pretty easy dude!

My fave, I had a very "vertical" day obviously!

Sheppard: Family

Morning shoots are the way to go in the Summer, especially in Missouri. The humidity is enough to make anyone cranky and it definitely did for Parker. We pulled out all the tricks but he was just miserable with 100 degree weather! We rescheduled after the Steeby wedding festivities and they came up to Weston bright and early when it was a nice 70 degree morning! The town is quite and perfect for photos! Anyway here is the perfect little family of three!

I don't know why these are so backwards but they are and my sister is coming in town from Idaho! I am so flippin excited plus I need to get ready for my shoot tomorrow so I am just going to give it to you a little in reverse. This was my last frame out of camera, think he is done?

Zeb + K'Lea: Wedding

I think I expressed my excitement for this wedding in the teaser, but just in case....Shane and I had a weekend getaway (something we have never done) and went to Camdenton, MO to shoot K'Lea & Zeb's wedding at the Casa De Loco Winery! It was absolutely perfect, the winery was amazing and such a great place to tie the knot. We had a little thunderstorm break loose about 30 minutes before first sight, but that was ok because Zeb needed to do a little ironing on all the boys suits. So after the storm ceased and Zeb was wrinkle free everything went off perfectly! The day was perfect because these two are just so perfect they are so sweet and obviously so in love, and that makes for the perfect wedding!

GORGEOUS, the little cottage in the back is their honeymoon suite.

Right before the rain let loose the sky turned black! I was just hoping that it was going to pass over fairly quickly and still allow us to go outside for pictures and the ceremony. That is exactly what happened, about an hour later it stopped and the sun came out and we still had more then enough time for pictures!

As everyone knows I am a sucker for first sights!

K'Lea you are adorable!

Loved the cake and groom's cake! There was a numbered key marking all the places they had been individually and together.

You two are amazing, a fave!

They both wrote their vows, and it was amazing! Favorite part of the day, even over first sight. Usually first sight wins hands down!

Meet Jayme K'Lea's maid of honor she is incredible and is also marrying an equally amazing man next fall at the Red Barn Farm, Jesse. Just prepping you for the hotness that will be all over the blog!

Because everyone always loves a good jumping picture! Love, love, loved this wedding party and definitely my favorite jumping picture of all time!

Ana+ Cole: Wedding

Two weeks ago Shane and I got to shoot Ana & Cole's wedding at Powell Gardens though the day was HOT it was absolutely gorgeous! The whole way down there I was so anxious and nervous for this one it was extra special since Ana & I are friends. We went to college together our freshman year at Northwest, I believe I mentioned all this in their engagement shoot. Anyway I love Ana & Cole they are both so easy going, hilarious, and sweet, and I love that in a bride & groom. Her dress and shoes were GORGEOUS.....seriously favorite! What is not to love about hot pink and purple shoes, and the collar on the dress it was perfect! Thanks you two for asking Shane & I to document your day it means the world to us! Happy 2 week anniversary!

Annie the flower girl was adorable she was so excited to be getting her makeup done!

The ladies at Rio in Parkville did an AMAZING job on the girls (& me too they put a braid in my hair and did my makeup too).

I was scrolling through the pics that Shane took that day and noticed we had both taken a picture of their vows when they put on their rings, the minister thought it would be better if they did not have to repeat after him since it is so short! I totally agree and though I think they were stumbling over the words all day they both got it during the ceremony!

Love the 'First Look' totally worth it! It is their alone time and helps calm the nerves. Cole's reaction was..."you are HOT"!

Plus it gives up time to get some awesome pics beforehand, then the bride and groom get to enjoy their reception, I am a big fan can you tell!

LOVE the shoes, always love a good bright colored shoe instead of your traditional white! So fun!

Loved the chapel, beautiful!

Her brother & dad sang a song during their ceremony, I know I keep saying it but their wedding was truly amazing so many friends and family incorporated!

It was a hot one, excuse the sweaty mess!

5 Year Anniversary

5 years ago today I married my everything! He is the most selfless, caring husband I have ever meet. He is always trying to make me happy (and I assure you that is not an easy task)! He gets up for work every morning kisses me goodbye and heads off while me and kids snooze in since we were up till midnight! But he never complains! He is always affectionate and tells me I am beautiful even though most days I feel the opposite. He can fix anything and everything and though sometimes he may seem a little grumpy to do my honey do list, he grumbles to himself all the way through it! He is wild about his rugrats, and is a pretty phenomenal daddy!

Happy Anniversary to my one and only, no matter what it takes I guarantee we will be curled up together 5o years from now (hopefully not watching Zombieland but snuggling none the less!) Pictures make every post better...

Amazing wedding! Shane and I had an awesome wedding vacay to the lake this last weekend for K'Lea and Zeb's wedding at the Casa De Loco winery. I am going with best bridal party ever! They have the best family and friends, and of course they have fabulous friends, because these two rock! Just a sneak peek for my biggest group of BLOG stalkers ever, more to come soon!

LOVE IT! They look like a bunch of gangsters, all they needed was a floating body in the river!

So sweet! Thank you sun, we had a straight hour of downpour about the time they were going to do their first look, but it finally let up and the sun came back out!

Ella and Jaxon's birthdays are a little over a month a part. This year I scheduled Ella's birthday on mother's day without knowing on top of that my mom, and Shane's aunt were out of town. So I cancelled it and doubled up putting Jaxon and Ella's both at the Red Barn Farm Memorial Day weekend. Jax was thrilled to share his birthday party with his sister, all he cared about was being able to visit his favorite place on earth! Just wanted to share a quick pic of them enjoying their birthday cakes, now back to editing Ana & Cole!

Favorite part of his birthday is where everyone sings Happy Birthday to him!

Sheppard: Family

Real quick, I am off to bed to rise early for Jaxon and Ella's birthday bash at the Red Barn Farm and a BBQ at the house. But first here is the Sheppard family they are so cute, I love the coordination in the shoes, and the vintage Mickey shirt adorable! Unfortunately poor Parker was a little cranky though with the horrible humid day we had on Sunday. Ask Shane I was extremely cranky that day too, the humid heat and me do not get a long well and I guess Parker is not a fan either. You put him in the air conditioned car and he seemed to light up but not outside. So here is what we caught in the first 30 minutes of the shoot, you will see them again in 2 weeks. I am going to finish their session while I am down at the lake shooting Mel & Nick's best friends wedding Zeb & K'Lea....can not wait

I went a little over the top again on this one, it is embarrassing how long I work on BLOG photos so I hope everyone really enjoys reading this! I got so caught up in Adelyn & Kale's adorableness I edited over 30 (like me on Facebook to check them all out). Seriously this family was so carefree and relaxed, I love it when I feel so comfortable with people that I can be sarcastic and bossy from the start usually it takes a little time for all us to get comfortable but not the case with this family!

I am SO happy that Larry (grandpa) & Lucy (grandma) came along for the shoot!

Wedding Album

When Nick & Libby's wedding album arrived (like 2 months ago) I was in LOVE the gorgeous brown leather and the simplistic elegant layout of the pages. It came together better then we all expected, and I love when that happens! Before Libby ran off with her album I snapped a few pictures! Seriously brides this is a must have, just ask Libby I believe she was just as in love with it as I was! I wish we had one of our wedding, my hope is when they are celebrating their 50th anniversary the album is as classic and timeless as it is today!

Jeremy + Brandi : Engagement

I am going to keep this short because I tend to ramble when I do BLOG posts at 2 a.m. but tomorrow is the first weekend that Shane and I have both had off in a long time so it is family weekend! I think we will be jumping around in rain puddles because I believe it is going to be a wet one. But last Saturday was beautiful for some engagement photos!

Brandi called me when she first got engaged and knew nothing about her wedding just knew she wanted me to photograph it, so that alone makes her my favorite bride! She is also marrying quite the cowboy, Jeremy, who makes any shoot entertaining. These two are over the top in love, and I think Shane and I are both pretty excited for their wedding in September, something tells me it is going to be quite the party!

P.S. I went a little over the top on this one, while going through for the BLOG I decided to edit a ton to get a head start on their guestbook. So this maybe the biggest BLOG yet, and there are even more on Facebook!

Jeremy put up the new highlines (Shane said that is what he called them but then again we are working at 2 a.m.) or powerlines on 45 hwy, so Brandi wanted to incorporate them into the shoot!

Katheryn: 1 year

Here is another adorable 1 year old, I should get Ella out there and get her 1 year old pics too! Hopefully if this rain goes away I can do that very soon! Katheryn is 2 weeks older then Ella and unlike Ella and her bud Kennedy she is cruising along on her feet. She was pretty cuddly with mom and did not make me chase her around to much that day! Kennedy: 1 year

Kennedy and Ella are a week apart and are identical they both only have two little bottom teeth, both are completely content with crawling, both are content happy babies, and both are super adorable! I trekked out to their house to take Kennedy's 1 year photos, plus a few with brother and sister who mom says were a mess. She had no intention of the three of them, but I made them all get in a few, goes to show it does not matter what they wear either I love messy kids, because what kid does not have food all over there face, scrapped up knees, etc... Once I offered it up Keleigh took over the show she is quite the little model and the photos turned into sister pictures. Connor had very little interest in photographs, but we got him to join in for a few as well! Seriously Mandi your kids are gorgeous I am a sucker for blonde hair blue eyed babes!

At the end of the shoot I asked Keleigh if she wanted some by herself she was all over it!

Thank you wind, it was incredibly windy this day but I always love a nice breeze! Fave!

Kieran: Senior

I use to work with Kieran's mom, Carol, 6 years ago downtown at Maggie's Attic when they were building their new home, or oasis the place is gorgeous! So that is where we did most of Kieran's senior photos just around the house! I am loving the change of scenery in all these photos, not that I don't love Weston I could not imagine doing what I do anywhere else! Kieran was incredibly easy to photograph and reminds me a lot of my cousin Greg that I just did senior photos for so this shoot was a piece a cake and I love the style even the wrinkled white shirt that forgot to be ironed :)

While going through Ella's 1 year photos I stumbled upon these photos of the boys, that I ment to share Easter day but don't think I ever did! I took the first one of them on Easter when Jax was about 9 months and the other one this Easter. When I took the photo of them my mind jumped back to the one when they were little babies. I went on a hunt threw old photos and found it, too cute! My personal photos are a mess I am surprised I know where anything is but that is one of my goals for 2010 to get my own photos organized! The last month has been spent revamping the house with a new ryegrass green color, a little compatible cream trim, & new windows! We are still not completely done, the railing, front door, and light pole still need a paint job and a little painting of the window trim indoors but overall it feels like a new house and I love the change. My little lady turned 1 today, oh I love her and her scrunchy nose smile! I seriously enjoyed every minute of the last year trying to tackle two kids and a business. Ella is such an angel, and I always told Shane I would go until I got a bad kid, but I think he is cutting me off. He says he does not want to chance it, we have two wonderfully healthy kiddos. Jax and Ella are becoming the best of friends and she thinks the world of her brother any silly gesture and Ella laughs uncontrollably! She is such a happy girl and so full of energy! Meet the Euwer family, I went out to their incredible house Sunday morning for some family pictures. They have an awesome view overlooking the bluffs, I love shooting at peoples home gives me a change of scenery and the kids tend to be a little more comfortable! Comfortable they were, Will gave mom and dad a pretty hard time that morning! I love the ornery ones they make me work harder, I left knowing silly Will participated for a few shots and boy did he I love his little mischievous smile in these, and his sister Harper is so gorgeous and photogenic. I am a photographer not a writer, I believe every time that I sit down to BLOG I stare at my blank blogger page wondering what to write. I actually start thinking about it before the shoot! I hate it I have some of the best clients, but have a hard time putting it into words! I am sure a lot of people can tell that English was never my strong area because I don't use punctuation correctly and have a ton of run on sentences. It seriously kills my mother that I am not grammatically correct! So anyway....I sit here staring at the screen determining what I can write about Greg and all I know as he simply rocks. I am not going to draw it out because Greg is simple and easy going so I am not going to say how awesome of a time we had...because we did. But just know Greg has a whole lot of swagger, and I seriously think he is fabulous!

P.S. I am not just saying this because he is my cousin!

Mackenzie & Chris : Engagement

Just wanted to share some of the amazing pictures from last weekends engagement shoot with Chris and Mackenzie before I get back to painting our house. I went to school with Mackenzie and her mom was my favorite teacher, she taught art so I owe some of my career choice to her. I don't know how to draw (without blending like a mad woman) or paint but I always loved taking pictures and had a little bit of a creative side to me! I also worked with Mackenzie at Maggie's Attic in downtown Weston, but I don't know if she was to fond of me then! :)

I am super excited they choose me to document their wedding day, I can hardly wait till their June wedding next year!

I have taken on way to many projects in the last few weeks that have got me running around not knowing which way is up. Hopefully in the next month things will calm down around the house and I will be able to be a little more consistent with the BLOG! Just a heads up on my eratic posting! It is getting tough keeping up with two very mobile children, revamping the house, and preparing for 3 upcoming birthdays! Enough about my lack of blogging lets get on with things...

Here are a few more of the Chappel Family from their shoot a few weeks ago, there kiddos should look familiar because I photographed Grey and Lilly last fall as well, when Lilly was 6 months old. Well Lilly turned 1 a few weeks ago and Grey is turning the big 5 so they needed some new pics, plus a few family ones as well. I love this family they are very patient, and there kids are sooo adorable! Plus Kecia always has the cutest clothes for the kids too, I love seeing what she has planned out. So if anyone is looking for a personal shopper I think she maybe your lady. How cute are Lilly's silver boots and bee jean jacket? I love that their outfits don't match exactly, but go together perfectly!

The slacker is back, I almost forgot my password when logging in! I have a few shoots coming up at the end of the month but the last couple of weeks I have been working on a wedding album and several engagement albums! I wanted to get a few photos since it was 50 degrees yesterday and I have not had the chance to take Ella out for pics in 2 months (not that I am neglecting Jax but Ella is changing so quickly). I started getting Jaxon ready, and told him that if he gave me 10 minutes we would go to the park afterwards (I always discourage bribery but I resort to it too with my 2.5 year old). As we are walking out the door these are his words to me as he sighs heavily:

"Mom I don't likey pictures"

my response:

"Tough!"

P.S. He actually seems to love taking pictures but I believe it is the whole washing his face, combing his hair, and wearing jeans that gets to him. He is more of the pant less free-bird type. Ex: I took him to The Bounce House in Zona the other day, and after jumping for awhile he ran back to the table and came back with no pants on, I was informed that they were getting in the way of his jumping. I am going to get calls when he goes to school of him streaking! I am totally prepared for this!

Lauren & Troy : Engagement

I am going to be meeting Lauren and Troy tomorrow to finish up their engagement shoot! Last week I watched the forecast hoping for snow, lots and lots of snow! Well an hour before the shoot snowflakes started coming down, and I was beaming! When we got started we were still getting a few flakes, but they quickly turned into rain, and then it was pouring down wetness (a mixture of rain & snow). Give me a cute umbrella and I would have been ok but with no cute umbrella we decided to try to finish up another day. So you will be seeing these two again soon. They are getting ready to move to Cali so tomorrow with freezing temps we are finishing up!

P.S. Heads up a super adorable one year old, and a pregnant belly in the city will be going up on the BLOG as well this week.

I found a few takers to brave a winter session (be a fan on Facebook if you want to stay up to date on my specials). I have been bored for the last three weeks with hardly any shoots, and felt like I was getting rusty so I found some people willing to tackle the cold with me! It actually ended up being a pretty decent day in the mid 40's perfect for a few family pictures!

I was good friends with Kristi in high school and our two high school sweethearts (who we both married just to clarify) got a long too! Well Shane and I had a great time being entertained by her two older boys. A lot of throwing rocks & sticks, falling through ice, little brother hugs (which Beckett was not always a fan of), muddy shoes, and climbing trees, we ended up with some of my favorite images to date. Maybe I am not getting rusty after all! Enjoy this super adorable family...hopefully I will see them again!

Here is my elegant elephant! I swear she does something new everyday, although she still is not saying 'mama' she just smiles at me and says 'dada'. I love this age, seriously my favorite age to photograph once they get older then this they are to hard to keep up with and you have to work so much harder for a smile! This was just a quick little shoot I did this morning while Jax was still snoozing, the sun was coming up for once through the front windows and was perfect!

Jayme contacted me in the fall to take family photos of all the kids and grandkids for her mom for Christmas. Her mom had no idea, so I waited to post these until after the holidays. I met them up in St. Joe and took a few at their mom's house (they had sent her off to do some Christmas shopping), and then headed to downtown Saint Joe to take a few at the ice rink that her younger brother and nephew play at. Such an awesome idea, this group was so easy to photograph and all of them got into the pictures even the big boys :)

Here is Elise again for her 1 year photos, I took her photos a few months ago when Ricky and Heather moved back to Missouri. With the cold weather we split the session up into two mini ones to get some closer to her birthday. The day we did it we got to go outside for about 10 minutes thanks to the weather being in the teens...felt like a heat wave compared to the negative numbers we have been having. I am so ready to get outside with the kiddos, especially Jax (Ella is still congested and cutting her first tooth YAY!)

OK so this holiday season was by far one of my craziest! This BLOG post is a little (ok a lot) over due, with both kids being sick, 21 people in town celebrating Christmas these last few weeks have been hectic. Now I am back to my daily grind (I hope) of getting ready for spring. I have a ton of samples, products, taxes (yuck), etc... that I am hoping to get accomplished over the next two months! So my blog maybe a little scarce with the negative degree weather over the next two months but I still have a few past shoots to BLOG and some family madness from Christmas!

Here are a few from the Summers family shoot, their mom was wanting some shots of the kids for her Christmas present. It ended up being a pretty decent day considering the middle of December, I love the white snow melting away exposing bright green grass :) only in Missouri! These two never fail me on a creative idea, they picked Fulk's Tree Farm for Posy's 3 month shoot. It was absolutely perfect and I had an awesome time helping them find the 'perfect' tree for Posy's 1st Christmas! Shane and I really want to start doing this with Jax & Ella and after spending an hour out there with these three I am sure we will have a real tree next year!
Posy loves me and is such a happy little girl full of smiles! She is already rolling over and also getting her first tooth now (Ella is 4+ months older and no site of a tooth). Such a big girl, tomorrow I will be doing her one-year photos goes by way to quick!

It is the end of the season and with Christmas approaching in about 30 minutes I have been super slow on blogging my shoots from two weeks ago! I am a super quick blogger and usually come running home put them on my computer and may have them up that night. Not the case with getting my new iMac but no software yet to edit on it (I am crossing my fingers that Santa brings some ;) ) I hardly use my old laptop which resulted in no blogging! Anyway....it is Christmas Eve night the kids are FINALLY asleep and I swore that I would get this done by Christmas....so up first is Chase. We did some 'Christmasy' 3 month photos and Niki had adorable ideas as usual! I loved the present more then anything and the chubby little hunk to go in the present....to die for!

Reese just turned 3 and they also needed some family photos for Christmas cards! We ended up with the perfect day, it was crazy warm Thanksgiving weekend absolutely perfect for photos! I am so ready for it to be spring, don't get me wrong I love a good snow but I don't love -0 weather were I can not take my boy out to play. I think we are all going crazy being cooped up in this house all week. I was praying for winter, and now I am praying for spring...I am never happy! Maizie : Birthday Party

Last weekend our family went down to the French's to help celebrate Maizie's 1st birthday and take a few photos. They had a Mexican fiesta with family! This last Saturday I woke up and the ground was covered in frost and it was super foggy out. I was anticipating a call not liking the weather and wanting to cancel, but no they stuck it out! Cole & Ana : Engagement

I am ecstatic to be shooting their wedding next June! Ana and I meet our freshman year at Northwest Missouri State we both lived in Millikan hall. She lived on the 7th floor next to Amanda (who I just took family photos for) who is cousins with one of my best friends from high school (got all that?). We were both in a science class and I am pretty sure we both got a D....I know I did! Anyway I loved her then she is sweet, entertaining, and in love with an equally amazing guy, Cole. Who she actually met at the beginning of our freshman year, her roommate was at the time dating his twin brother. Well a first kiss on a washing machine, and the rest is history :)

Both of them have pretty amazing blue eyes...Ana wins with the multi-colored eyes though!

Wes was another boy who was oh so pleased to be having his senior photos taken. He however got a little into it when we started incorporating the combine, tractor, and his adorable lady Stella! Overall all he did awesome and cracked a few smiles thanks to his older sister Amanda!

So we finally got a few family photos of the Parkin family, we had rescheduled several times for various reasons. In the end I don't think they could ask for a better November day it was 70+ degrees during their session! They have two adorable kids, Cobie & Lizzie. They are very similar ages to Ella and Jax. I believe Ella and Lizzie are actually only 2 weeks apart. So here is the ridiculously adorable family (they have Cobie say funny sounding words and one was ridiculous).

I took these photos of Ella last week and have been wanting to share them but have not found the time! So before I get going on this last weekends photos I wanted to share some of my lady. I can not get enough of her I just want to sit in the rocking chair all day and hold my babies. I do not know where time goes but I feel like the last 6 months have flown by and I missed it all (actually the last 2.5 yrs. because I do not know how Jax got so big either)! They both make me so happy and make me a better person! Thank you for being so happy and beautiful! Happy 1/2 Birthday Ellie!

So I have been set back with the sick babies this week so I am getting these up a little later then I wanted too.....so on Facebook I went a little overboard with Aly's senior photos! This lady could be a model she is super tall and gorgeous! I guess she had done a little modeling when she was little, so she was in her comfort zone. Most everyone I shoot is nervous, but with do time get use to it. Well there was no getting use to me, she was a natural. Amy & Daniel : Engagement

Shane and I were married out at the Red Barn Farm almost 5 years ago. During the planning of the wedding I got to know Steve, Cindy, and their daughter Amy. They are such an awesome family and all so sweet!
We visit the Red Barn Farm practically on a weekly bases, Jaxon loves it out there. Every time I drive down 273 he screams from the back "TURN! TURN! Horses, chickens! TURN!" I have also done a fair share of family shoots out there. So when Amy & Daniel got engaged they called me to do their engagement and wedding pictures! I was thrilled, I absolutely love the Red Barn Farm it truly is the perfect place for a wedding! So Sunday I went out and met Amy & Daniel for their engagement shoot they were amazing full of smiles and laughs! I can hardly wait till their wedding next summer I am sure it will be amazing from what I have already heard.

Nick & Libby : Wedding

I was hoping to get these up for Libby by the time they left for their honeymoon Monday morning, but that did not happen! I am home with a little boy that can not seem to break his fever and my little lady is having the before symptoms. So without further ado (before they both start crying) here is the Even wedding, it was absolutely gorgeous...they had a small ceremony in Weston Halloween afternoon, and that night had an over the top Halloween reception. Libby & Nick hired Hitched in KC wedding planners Jessica and Amy that helped them plan every detail! Beautiful flowers, the most creative fall/Halloween details, & scrumptious food! They had a pizza and mac n' cheese bar which was replaced with milk and cookies towards the end of the night! That was my favorite part such an awesome idea, and delicious!

I have been told that my kids are never on the blog, I have been taking pictures but with all the shoots just have not had time to sit down and do anything with them. They will have to wait until December but until then here are my beautiful babies. Ella eating leaves and Jax is always beaming! Oh how I love them!

I can hardly wait till things quite down a little for the winter months. I LOVE work don't get me wrong, but I also love my babies and husband and I feel like that we have not been able to have time together since he works all day and I work on the weekends!

Nathan: Senior

It sprinkled pretty much through all of Nathan's shoot. Shane had been watching the Chiefs game on Sunday and when it started raining I called up Nathan's mom to see if we could start a little earlier and beat the rain! I thought it was going to start coming down hard, but it held off for the most part for us to get a ton of awesome shots for Nathan's senior pictures. He is not like most guys, I believe he actually enjoyed having his senior pictures taken which made it amazing! So for all you senior boys that moms are making you take your pictures suck it up and have a little fun :) it will make it better for the both of us! So thank you Nathan for being so cooperative!

Here is one of my fave families! I was able to photograph their wedding last fall, and I guess I did a good enough job that Dee called me to do some family photos! I am hoping I can talk her into the Babies 1st Year, since she is 6 months pregnant with a little lady! I just enjoy all of them so much! Garrett is such a little ham, and was not ready for me to go home. He is too sweet!

P.S. I had a hard time editing these but promised Dee today at my eye appointment (she works at Eye Center of Parkville which was delightful I might add) that I would get them up tonight. My eyes are still a little screwy from being dilated though so I hope my editing looks stunning!

I hope I make it through the next few weeks ahead! It is 1:30 A.M. and I have been getting orders ready to catch up from the last couple weeks. Dave was my employer before I had my second baby, Ella, and started up Angela Davis Photography. He is quite the chef at the Avalon and has a pretty amazing lady! They wanted 'cool' photos for their house so who else would they call? :) I loved taking these photos they were totally natural in their jean jackets!

I loved this family! I ended up taking Ella and Jax with me to this shoot, and Laura and Toby were so sweet about it! Toby ended up being a pretty awesome babysitter for my sleepy girl, and Payton and Jax were best buds within minutes. Jax was picking leaves out of her hair, too sweet! I loved these pictures, Laura knows how to make me happy with all the awesome outfits she brought for Payton. Seriously I love tutus but with cowboy boots and a lollipop....I was in heaven! I think these pictures really capture Payton's personality, I hope Laura and Toby think that too! Enjoy!

I got to meet the whole Juergens Family for some family photos this weekend. Their daughter's family was in town from St. Louis, and their son's family will be moving with the Navy soon, so they wanted to get some of the whole family while they were all together! I had a great time, they are all so sweet and had 4 super adorable kiddos!

This weekend was crazy with 6 shoots usually I try to keep it to 2 or 3, but it is starting to feel more like winter that I am trying to get everyone in especially all the seniors that want fall photos.
Schafer was very excited about his senior photos :) no not really I don't know of any boys that like to have their photo taken, but if there is one out there I would like to meet him! I take that back my my last engagement shoot, Zeb was pretty fabulous but they are few and far between! I am partial to this family since I spent a ton of time at Heather's house through junior high and high school, since me and her sister were inseparable BFF :) Heather and her family were in town for a few weeks and wanted to get some family photos with their 10 month old Elise! She was one happy baby even in the chilly weather! I hopefully will see them in a few months for Elise's 1 year old photos, hopefully we will get some snow!

Burton's Surprise Birthday

Burton turned 75 on Friday and a ton of people came out on Saturday night to celebrate with him. The Hiatt's are two of the most gracious people you will ever meet, and you could tell how much they were loved by the rooms full of family and friends at the Avalon! Burton said at the end of the night that he is not quite sure how Bobbi pulled it off but she did! He was VERY surprised and had an awesome reaction! Happy Birthday Colonel!

Here are a few more of Zeb & K'Lea! They are getting married in June of next year at a winery down by the Lake of the Ozarks and I could not be more excited for their big day. They were amazing and completely comfortable even though K'Lea swore she had no idea what she was doing. Smith Family

I absolutely love fall! Today (or yesterday since it is 1 A.M) was absolutely beautiful weather for family photos. This family is too sweet and pretty much up for anything :) Angela's son and daughter-in-law live on a farm in Dearborn that was amazing for photos two old barns, corn, chicken coops, etc... I love going new places, I left wishing I lived in the country! They had 5 horses, a duck, dogs, and chickens when I pulled up I was wishing I would have brought my little assistant because he would have been in heaven!

P.S. Don't worry if you see us out in your yard feeding your horses apples one day! Shane and I's nights sometimes consists of driving around the country looking for horses for Jaxon, man we are lame! Just glad we know someone with horses now ;) So we don't have to stalk everyone in Weston!

Here is my handsome nephew who is completely neglected when it comes to pictures. I think his sisters have made several appearances so he was definitely due. He had been throwing out hints since Hailey's 5 year old photos that he REALLY wanted photos :) I refused to take his pictures with his silly mo-hawk that he had, so he cut it! He is such a cute boy and an awesome nephew (most of the time he has his moments), and Jax really loves his Butt too! (that is what it sounds like when he says Brett, Chuck comes out totally wrong too but we are working on that, really hard!) Have a good weekend!

Josephine : Newborn

One year from yesterday I was shooting Greg and Audrey's wedding out at the Red Barn Farm and yesterday I got to shoot their beautiful daughter, Josephine or Posy as everyone is calling her! I loved her so she was so happy and allowed us to stick her in the craziest places. I can not believe that Ella was as tiny as Josephine they were the same birth weight 7.9, now Ella is a chubby 20 lbs and not even 5 months. Oh how they change so much over the first year, that is why Greg and Audrey are doing Watch Me Grow so you will see Josephine in another 3 months which will seem like tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Miss Kenisen! Kenisen is turning two today, and yesterday I meet up with her, her sweet mom, and her amusing dad for some birthday pictures! Lisa had some awesome ideas for her birthday pictures, I absolutely love when clients help choose locations and bring accesories I am always up for anything and it makes the shoot a little more personal. Lisa was talking about bringing balloons and cupcakes and I was smiling on the inside! Oh and she had the track idea of using the 2, which I L-O-V-E-D!
